Challenge Day 1 and 2 and 3

September 24, 2010

Three of the four aprons. One has already been tested.... and is currently wearing the evidence of 4 year old + egg! I will show you that one when it is restored to it's pristine condition.

An ikea off-cut I saved from the Op-shop earlier this year.

Over the last three days I have been sewing, as part of the Kids Clothes Week Challenge.

Really nice to have to think about clothing just for kids.

I started with aprons, because we needed some. I want to do some extra cooking with the girls if we get a chance over the next couple of weeks.

I am hoping to get some model shots for the end of the week, but we’ll see.

So far I have only spent $2 and everything else has been from the stash. Yay!

My $2 purchase.

This Debbie Mumm fabric was bought about 11 years ago. No, I am not kidding. I remember buying it at a quilting store in Blackheath when 11 year old was a baby. I love the stormy blue swirled background, the sheep and the spotty rabbits. Even with all this love, it remained in the box…. until now.

Cream and Black woven check. Can you believe that in all my fabric I only had calico to co-ordinate back with the Ikea fabric. That’s got to mean I am making a dent!

I am in the middle of another project using the blue fabric. That photo can wait until tomorrow.

I’m so glad aprons are in style again! These look really nice and I hope to see the girls modeling them.

I really want to make an apron for my goddaughter (it’s been on the to do list for a while!) did you use a pattern or just make it up?

Hey Thora, You should totally make one. They don’t take long. I just made it up, but I am happy to give you the patterny thingy I made to make them!
