While looking for something else tonight on the internet I came across these.
Here’s the blurb…..
Crumpled City and Crumpled City Junior maps are soft, yet hard-wearing, waterproof and meant to be creased and crumpled. You can place the area that you’re interested in on the palm of your hand to spot street names then just screw it up, stuff it back into its case or your pocket, and carry on.
Brilliant, I thought. Why haven’t maps been printed on fabric before?
….then I think back to school where world maps were often printed on fabric. Remember?
Then after a little research I find that many World War II maps were printed on rayon, acetate ….even balloon fabric.
Seems there’s indeed nothing new under the sun….. but I love them.
