Mum’s birthday bag.

September 7, 2010

A couple of weeks ago my friend Kirsty and I were playing in my trunk full of ties, putting colours together and generally enjoying ourselves, this group of ties came together. The colours instantly reminded me of Mum. They also remind me of coffee and mushrooms, curiously.

As I mentioned back here, I named this style of bag after my Mum. So, I thought it was probably a good thing for her to own one. Her  birthday gave me a great opportunity. This is the Wheaton I made for mum.

Vintage quilting cotton, and lace edge doilies are used for the lining.

Wooden curtain rings give a lovely natural feel to the bag.

You’ve got one lucky mum. It’s lovely.

    Curtain rings? How clever.
