    Yay! Us too.

Always used to be amused as a teacher that the teachers skipped about the school on the last day of every term and the parents all looked a bit glum. And then it reversed on the first day of the next term…parents skipping to school and teachers looking a bit glum.

But as for me and my household – we are glad that the holidays are here. Enjoy yours. And we will enjoy ours.

Yes, I see this too, with the teachers and parents thing.
It can sound a bit smug as a parent to say you like holidays. (in my experience).

      Here’s what I love.
I love the thought of being together without the… get to school before set time, in full school uniform… AND HAT!, with whatever recorder, book, paintshirt, note, money, project, homework…. fill in the blank!
…an added bonus is if we can be nit free, hair brushed and /or tied back (3-4x), teeth cleaned, having had a healthy breakfast in a frame of mind to learn and be resilient!…. and NO YELLING!

Holiday chaos is always better than 7:00-9:00am chaos during term anytime.

Enjoy the freedom to go slow…. we will be.

I should say that as a teacher I was ALWAYS glad of the holidays, as much as I loved the job. But by the end of the holidays I was (usually) keen and ready to get back to the classroom.

And as parent I am (usually) glad that the holidays are here (for all the reasons you list) and by the end of them (as much as I love the holidays and boys) glad to send them back to school for the sake of routine and the chance to have five hours in the day to think straight and have the Lego contained.

It’s a good to have a balance in life!! 🙂
