Recipe Tag 2: The meal you make without a recipe

Another of our favourites "Fish and rice" Recipe at "Change the world"

Last year I began a recipe tag that made it’s way around the blog world yielding no less than 35 yummy ideas. Lots of them I have tried.

I enjoy finding recipes that work for other people, because they are more likely to end in success for me.

Maybe it’s just me, but a couple of times every year I feel stuck in a rut. Does this happen to anyone else?

So, what I am asking from you this time is….

What is the meal that you make so often that you don’t need the recipe for any more?

What do you cook when you are pushed for time?

What is the meal you cook that everyone in your house enjoys?

What I want from you is one recipe that does it all. Is that asking too much? I hope not.

For me it’s

Pasta with Tomato, Olives and Feta effectionately known in our house as Pasta da lista

It goes like this…

1 500g bag of dry pasta

1 punnet of cherry tomatoes (or cut tomatoes if cherry tomatoes are too much that week)

1 chunky black olive dip (or small deli container of  pitted Kalamatas -good if you want to pick them out)

1 block of feta cheese (drier, harder feta is better than softer, wetter feta)

salt and pepper

Splash of olive oil


  1. Cook the pasta as per packet directions
  2. While pasta is cooking…. cut cherry tomatoes into quarters and crumble feta put both into a large salad bowl.
  3. Drain pasta, add to salad bowl
  4. Add olive dip to salad bowl
  5. Mix until dip covers pasta
  6. Add the splash of olive oil (if required)
  7. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Eat!
