Sing Choirs of Angels!
November 23, 2011
As in past years I have used my favourite medium , men’s neckties, to make a decoration for the coming Christmas season.
This year was no exception.
I love how often the angelic crowd are mentioned in the biblical Christmas story, and so they have become, for our family one of the big symbols we associate with Christmas.
Every year we give the girls an angel each to hang on the tree, or sit on the mantle piece. It’s a reminder to them that God is much bigger than they can imagine, that there are things in this life they don’t yet understand and that we are all called to be messengers of the good news…… just like the angels were on the first Christmas.
My great friend Cathy McKay has written the poem this year, and I am so thankful to her for that.
Each angel comes with a printed poem for you to hang or use in your advent activities.
All for $12
Time weary waiting
On the long silent God to speak
Angel voices split cold, black silence
Saturating the void with glory
.
The dust-bound tremble, breaking under glory’s weight.
.
Fear flees with a word
God has left the glory of the highest
Slipping to the cold, dark earth
In the cold, black silence
Speaking, being, bringing peace.
.
Previously I have made stars and trees.
The angels, stars and trees can now be purchased via

Three bags in three days: BAG 2 – ‘yet to be named’
June 22, 2010
Very similar to the Mackay, but with an owl instead of a rosette, the unnamed bag could be used by both males and females.
The owl is removable, and/or inter-changable. There are three to choose from (only one comes with the bag).
Inside, keeping with the unisex idea, I have used a Japanese art inspired ‘Volcom’ T-shirt for the lining, together with white cotton ticking.
The inner pocket is the T-shirt sleeve! 4 small pockets to hold your keys and phone and wallet and anything……
The ‘Yet to be named ‘bag has an adjustable strap made from two ties. So the strap can go from 70cm to 150cm long. This means it can either be worn over the holder as a hand bag or over the body as more of a satchel style.
Measuring approx 30cm x 35cm it can accommodate a magazine or A4 notebook flat with room to spare for all those other essentials.
Both the front and the back are equally as interesting, so you choose which one is the facing side and place your owl….and any other interesting badges you may own, and wear it boldly.
Give Away: This is it!

It’s my Blogoversary!
April 30, 2010
Wow, one year has passed and you are still here?
Thank you!
I have loved having a blog and a little label way more than I thought I would.
One of the things I like most about the combination of blog and label is I get to give things away.
To celebrate being here (in the blogospher ) I am giving something away.
Surprise, surprise.
….and this is the best one yet!
A Bag.

A new page ….
January 20, 2010
For the last month or so I haven’t been making anything for harrysdesk, but I have been doing a lot of thinking about the year ahead.
One of the things I am keen to put together are gallery collections of items that I have made.
I hope to make a number of separate collections. Bags, T-shirts, broaches, jewelry and others.
Here’s the first one. Enjoy!!
I am hoping that these will serve a couple of purposes.
1. I can have a record of everything I have made, and 2. It should make it easier to get a feel for what I do, without having to search through the whole blog.
What I would love from you, if you are willing, is some frank feedback. If you think the way I have done it looks naff, say so. I’ll still talk to you! Really! It would be enormously helpful to know what you think.
